Michele Marsicano joined Wiseman Ashworth Law Group as an Associate Attorney in August 2014 and is involved in all aspects of litigation and trial preparation representing hospitals, physicians, and long-term care providers in all state and federal courts of record in Middle Tennessee.  She has significant experience representing hospitals and mental health facilities in Probate, General Sessions and specialty mental health courts in conservatorships, expedited limited healthcare fiduciary matters, and commitment hearings. Michele also represents physicians in contested case hearings before the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.

After graduating from the University of Georgia School of Law, Michele clerked for the Honorable Roger W. Dunaway and the Honorable Harold A. Hinesley, Toombs Judicial Circuit Superior Court of the 10th Judicial District of Georgia. In that role she participated in motion hearings, jury charge conferences, settlement conferences, and proceedings in both criminal and civil trials before the Court. Michele worked directly with State Superior Court judges, juries, courthouse personnel and local attorneys, enabling her to gain a unique perspective on the litigation process and the variety of issues that develop and arise over the life of a case.

While in law school, Michele interned for the Office of General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Region 4 in Atlanta working with Medicare’s recovery under the Medicare Secondary Payer Act and administrative hearings regarding provider enrollment in Medicare. Michele worked directly with opposing counsel, CMS, and Medicare beneficiaries, allowing her to gain an understanding of this area of law. She also interned for the Office of General Counsel for the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta working with the Public Health Service Act and federal employment law issues. Additionally, Michele interned for the Honorable Eugene M. Benton, Alcovy Judicial Circuit Superior Court of the 10th Judicial District of Georgia.

Michele and her husband Chris live in the historic Germantown neighborhood of Nashville. When not practicing law, she enjoys cooking Italian food and travel.
